Dime Drop

Privacy Policy

Dime Drop for iPhone and iPad · Effective 10 August 2026

The short version. Dime Drop has no accounts, no login and no server of its own. Your progress is a file on your device and it never leaves. The developer receives no personal information about you at all.

The one exception is the advertising component. Dime Drop includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show a single rewarded video, and that SDK collects data on its own behalf. What it collects is set out below.

Who this policy is from

Dime Drop is made and published by Isaac Frett, an individual developer. Questions about this policy go to dimedropapp@protonmail.com.

What the app itself collects

Nothing. Dime Drop does not ask for your name, your email address, your location, your contacts, your photos or your microphone, and it has no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own. There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.

Where your game data lives

Your progress — levels cleared, stars earned, dime balance, settings, coin faces owned, and the identifiers of purchases already granted — is stored in a single file inside the app's own storage on your device. It is not uploaded, not backed up to any server run by the developer, and not synced between devices. Deleting the app deletes it.

If you have iCloud Backup switched on for your iPhone or iPad, iOS may include the app's data in your own encrypted device backup. That backup is between you and Apple; the developer has no access to it.

Purchases

Dime packs are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; the developer never sees your card details, your billing address or your Apple Account credentials, and receives only the anonymised sales reports every developer gets from App Store Connect.

The app stores the transaction identifier of each completed purchase on your device, for one reason: so that the same purchase is never granted twice.

Advertising

Dime Drop shows exactly one kind of advertisement: a rewarded video, offered only when you have no Story lives left, and played only if you choose to tap it. There are no banners and no interstitials, and no ad is ever shown to you unasked.

To serve that video the app includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK. When an ad is requested, that SDK collects and processes data on its own behalf, independently of the developer, including:

  • Device identifiers — an advertising or device-scoped identifier used to limit how often an ad is repeated and to detect fraud.
  • Advertising data — that an ad was requested, shown, watched or dismissed.
  • Diagnostics — the SDK's own crash and performance data.
  • Coarse technical information — device model, operating system version, and an IP address, which implies approximate location at roughly the level of a city.

Google's handling of that data is governed by its own policies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Ads in Dime Drop are not personalised

The app never asks for permission to track you. It contains no App Tracking Transparency prompt and makes no request for the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), which means Apple does not grant the app tracking authorisation and the ad SDK cannot link its identifiers to data collected by other companies' apps and websites. The ads served are non-personalised: they are not selected on the basis of a profile of you.

The app does include Apple's SKAdNetwork identifiers. SKAdNetwork is Apple's privacy-preserving install-attribution system; it reports that an install happened without identifying the person who installed.

What is not done

  • No data is sold, and no data is shared for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • No profile of you is built, by the app or by the developer.
  • No email list, newsletter or push notification.
  • No social login, no Game Center, no leaderboards, no chat, and no user-generated content.
  • No third-party analytics or attribution SDKs beyond the advertising component described above.

Children

Dime Drop is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. The developer collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and does not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. Because the app never requests tracking authorisation, ads shown in it are non-personalised. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, write to dimedropapp@protonmail.com and it will be looked into.

Your choices and your rights

  • Erase everything. Deleting the app removes all game data from your device. There is no server-side copy to request, correct or delete, because there is no server.
  • Limit ad tracking. On iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, control what apps may ask for and what Apple's own personalisation does. Dime Drop asks for nothing there in the first place.
  • Play without ads entirely. Never tap the rewarded video and no ad is ever loaded or shown.
  • Data rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or the CCPA. The developer holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to export or erase on request. For data held by Google as a result of ad requests, use the Google links above.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change — for example if analytics, accounts or cloud saves are ever added — this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces them.
